The reservoir holds 0.6 quarts of seed, and a plastic sleeve inside the column keeps seed in place. Two ports at the bottom of the feeder empty onto the attached tray, and two drainage holes help seed stay dry. An extended neck on the top of the item brings shape to the piece, which enlarges toward the base. A raised baffle inside the reservoir easily directs seed to the ports, preventing a buildup, and a steel cable threads through the feeder, helping it hang from a hook.
