Paying a bit extra for real leather pays off. Ordered my usual size 9 and they fit perfect: with both thin and thick socks. They break in after two wears (way faster than expected) and are the most comfortable boots I've owned. I love them and would certainly recommend them.

have been trying to find my size for close to 5 years in any boot shop.... nothing ever to try on in an 8 N, so decided to do the mailorder thing. size 8 worked, and was able to wear a white cotton ribbed calf sock or mans dress sock and both work ok. the laces were fed in wrong, so once I relaced them traditionalY , they pulled tighter with less stress on the laces. they are light, didn't need any "break in" time (wore them 4+ hours the first chance I got!), and i noticed right away the extra support around my ankles--i like it!. as to price..... i did actually find a brown pair of JUSTIN lace-ups (heavy, not as nice looking)while researching stateline boots, and feel i got just what i wanted/needed for WAY less. I wear ROPERS to ride anyway, so have the best of both worlds now.(the brown is dark, almost black on my pair)

I bought these boots to show in and they work great! I don't ride in them alot, but they work very good for what I need them for. Very stiff when I first got them, but they loosened up quickly. 4 STARS!

I've owned these boots for well over 6 months, using them almost daily for exercising my horse. They fit my slightly wide 8.5 size feet pretty comfortably - and I'm picky about shoe fit.
I've worn them in deep mud and low water - they've kept my feet dry. My feet have been fairly cool in the summer as well. The leather has stayed nice. I have worn the laces out & had to replace those, but that's more me and how hard I pull on the laces. Other than that, these boots have held up really well! I do clean mine if they get excessively muddy and keep them oiled with neatsfoot oil - helps them shed the mud.
I highly recommend these boots and will buy them again when my current pair wears out.

These boots break in quickly and are extremely comfortable. I have worn them for show and everyday, I am buying a second so I have a nicer pair for shows. Excellent value for the price.

You get what you pay for and these are very inexpensive boots. I actually really like them. Come out of the box stiffer than cardboard, but mink oil and a few days of wear softened them up. I bought new insoles for them for some more cushioning. I have wide feet and they fit great, very true to size. I actually bought them because no department stores carry lace up boots anymore. From my young riding days I decided paddock boots would be close enough. I teach elementary school and wear them all day 2-3 times a week (casual dress code where I teach) and I think they are fine. I am splurging on Ariats next time now that I know they are like a fashion accessory for me! ;-) Many of my non-horsey colleagues have complimented me on them too!
