They are made with soft top grain pigskin leather that has been brushed to a suede finish to give the leather added suppleness. My arms can't thank me enough!, 9/13/2011

These gloves have been an arm-saver! I am out in my Rose garden daily and my arms have the battle scars to prove it... well, not any more! These gloves fit perfectly and give great protection from even the longest and toughest thorns around... and, for an extra peace of mind against those hidden snakes that seem to surpise me. I would not promote as snake gloves but, the thickness of the glove shaft does give ample protection. The fit is very nice too. My circumference size is a small but, my finger length is a med, I still ordered a small and the fit is perfect!!! LOVE< LOVE< LOVE these gloves!!!
