I received this helmet today and it is just gorgeous! The picture definitely doesn't do this helmet justice. I ordered according to sizing chart and it fits perfectly! I highly recommend!!

This helmet is beautiful and high quality. The straps are a much lighter brown than the picture (more of a cream or light tan) but still look good. It is no more "musroomy" than other helmets, probably less so than my 7 year old IRH. I think it looks nice and professional when it's on. I am still trying to decide if it is too tight or not. The helmet feels a little snug across the forehead, but it also feels more secure overall than my old one so maybe I'm just not used to the fit. Overall a very nice helmet though!

I've had this helmet for many, many years. I finally wore out the strap and closing catch, and am getting another identical one. It survives falls, drops, hits, everyday riding, and showing. I put a helmet cover on it for every day, and the velvet still looks good for showing after many years. "Mushroom head"? Well, any actual safety helment is going to do that - the old schooling helmets that don't can only protect against scrapes; they don't have any shock absorption ability. Among the real safey helmets, this is one of the least "mushroom heady". I tried on a couple much more expensive ones that were actually larger.

This helmet is BY FAR the best helmet I have EVER owned. It has such a small profile that I bought a **hunt cap** carrying case, instead this helmet fit into this. Dont go for the cheaper helmets out there. Troxel has never let me down before and this is no exception. The leather on the sides and back of the helmet looks wonderful. This looks great wheather your showing novice shows or showing big AQHA shows like me. I highly reccomend this helmet.

thx to someone else taking the time to write a review on this helmet, i bought it instead of a cheaper one. Soooo glad I did, it is perfect; nice plush velvet, fit exactly right and just nicely made. Go for this one instead of the cheaper one (which several buyers complained about the velvet coming off after only a few uses). This helmet should last for a good long time if properly cared for!

This is a beautiful helmet. Looks gorgeous both on and off your head, and the velvet is the softest you'll ever touch. I've had this helmet for at least 7 years....and it's the best thing I've invested in! It is amazingly comfortable and will last you forever. It's survived falls, horse hooves, drops from shelves, you name it -- no cracks or dents whatsoever and the straps are in perfect condition. The velvet has started to fray after so many years, but that is the only sign it shows of aging! Never been happier with any other helmet. This helmet the best way to go!

When this helmet arrived, it was absolutely beautiful! It looks identical to the picture. The leather is very soft and is easily adjusted. The helmet itself feels a little snug at first but after a few uses, it fits like a glove. It does give you the "mushroom" head, but I don't know many helmets that don't now a days. Overall, a great buy!

I have had this helmet for about 5 years and love it! Last week a horse at the barn I ride at stomped on it and ruined the velvet outside but didn't even crack or dent the shell! I'm definitely getting the same helmet again and it looks great!

I bought this helmet after ordering an IRH helmet that ended up being WAY too small. When I put this one on, it looked like I had two heads! I thought my old '90s schooling helmet was bad, but this one looked so ridiculous. It added about 5" to my height, and the same on either side of my head. Mushroom head is an understatement! Other than looks, it was pretty comfortable, but I was embarrassed to wear it to the barn. I ended up just wearing my old, grimy, outdated (but still safe) schooling helmet from the mid '90s instead.

i have had this helmet for a very long time. and i have fallen in it at least 7 times and its still amazing!! it last a long time and its extremely comfy!! buy it buy it buy it!!!!!

this helmet is great. my friend has the same helmet and was just in a very serious fall, where she hit her head and got a moderate concution, but the doctor said if she had not had a helmet on, she would surely be dead. the helmet was dented, so she went out and bought a the same one. great helmet will protect your noggin well!
