I would rather use my Tuffguard hose (which doesn't use electricity) because it's rated not to freeze to -20 degrees F. I also don't have an outlet handy.

The only thing this hose was good for was lightening the load in my checking account. Even on mild days when the temperature was in the 20s it would not thaw out the ice. It had no more heating power then a non-electric regular cheap hose. I wish they had stars on the minus side cause this product sure deserves them.

I like the idea of a heated hose, but here in the east, we need heavy duty and to the best of my knowledge, this still needs perfection. What I do is use soaker hoses, they are flat on a real and takes 2 min to unravel them, hook them together and water the horses, aprox 60 feet away from bar, then I unhook them, reel them onto the reel, takes about 1 min and carry both reels into the house, they weigh approx less than a pound apiece and because they reel up flat, they NEVER freeze and need no electricity that makes you worry if your barn will catch fire ! Try them, I love them, I think the brand of mine is soaker hose google them

Works great, while it works! But don't expect it to last longer than 1 year. Not thrilled with Pirit hoses either..., great idea but needs work

Heated water hose from Rough and Ready, CA
Love my heated water hose. It has changed my life. The thermostat works great and knowing there is a heated water source whenever needed is wonderful.Wish I thought of inventing this!

Heated water hose from Rough and Ready, CA
For the past 10 years have had to break ice in the winter and haul water from inside the house before work in the morning. Yuck! Now, with this heated water hose life is so much better. It comes on automatically whenever the temperature freezes and stays dry and warm for use on demand in any temperature. Then I fill the heated water buckets that I bought from Stateline also. The horses love to drink the slightly warmer water in the winter. Imagine these things would help to prevent colic to encourage drinking of the warmer water. The water hose is stored in the barn out of the elements so it will last a long long time and is hanging on a hose hanger when stored. I plan on buying one or two more. I check it every morning and it is nice and warm and saving for the day when it is needed. Already the other hoses have been freezing. Anyone who lives in cold weather should buy these for their water hose. They are worth every penny. Love to make life easier.

Getting water to my horses buckets in winter is labor intensive enough. With this hose, even with back and forth to the pump, it saves time and frustration. Leave it plugged in 24/7. One of the greatest gifts to myself ever...
