I measured this meter against a known sample and it is accurate but off. I had to basically add 1 point up but once you can compensate in your head the difference and get used to it it does measure pretty accurately. When it arrived I found out it can read water also! It has instructions on the box. So basically you should measure it against something that you KNOW THE Ph of and then adjust for differences in the meter itself. Maybe some are spot on but mine I know is measuring a point low but that is OK because I can just add a point to whatever it reads. It is somewhat sturdy for a $10 meter that does a good job so far. I spent over $100 on just a water Ph meter. But this $10 meter is just fine for basic growing.
